Speedway Films director Atom Rothlein will be capturing the James Burton International Guitar Festival for a TV special and DVD release. Confirmed performers include Dr. John, Eric Johnson, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, Steve Cropper, Brad Paisley, action star/guitarist Steven Seagal and the duo of Matthew and Gunnar Nelson. Additional festival events include autograph sessions, a trade show, product demonstrations and the unveiling of a James Burton statue. James Burton's long discography as a guitar player includes recordings with Elvis Presley, Ricky Nelson, The Everly Brothers, Merle Haggard, Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris, Elvis Costello, Jerry Lee Lewis and John Denver.
The James Burton International Guitar Festival kicks off tomorrow and runs through Sunday, August 21, in Shreveport, LA.
