When it comes to making a video for a song as brazenly sexy/silly as "Birthday Sex," you have two options. 1) Camp it up. Go take a look at the old video for "Thong Song," in which director Joseph Kahn embraced the Spring Break essence of the song by placing Sisqo among the bootyful hordes on a beach. Great video, huge hit, potentially bad career move for Sisqo. 2) Play it down. Director Paul Hunter disregards the kitsch factor of the lyrics in this video for "Birthday Sex." No cake, no candles, no humor. Instead we get a serious and slick depiction of Jeremih and his lady hitting record on a camcorder and then hitting it in every room of a modern house (including a recreation of the classic refrigerator raunch scene from 9 1/2 Weeks.) The "Birthday Sex" video may not be as fun as you may have liked, but it seems clearly designed to image Jeremih as a traditional r&b singer and give him a future chance at being enjoyed on the 364 days that aren't his birthday. --> watch "Birthday Sex"
