The Drums "Magic Mountain" (The Drums, dir.)

Magic Mountains? Magic Mushrooms? Who knows, except that this is a glassy and stately wander through the wilderners (with swords), presented like a classic b/w film. There's also an ending dedication to Elizabeth Taylor, which makes me think a film buff with a serious Criterion fetish can tell us what inspired this video, sicne it's clearly not Game Of Thrones

Lily Allen "As Long As I Got You" (Chris Sweeney, dir.)

Saying the new Lily Allen video was shot around her appearance at legendary UK festival Glastonbury may have you thinking: self-indulgent, boring, live crowd, etc. Not with Lily Allen, who has a lifelong personal connection to the fest, having attended every year since she was a little kid, and a greater interest in showing the people and the vibe than a heroic look-at-me performance.

It's kind of like Woodstock, but without any mention of the toilets or the brown acid.

Rise Against "I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore" (Nico Sabenorio, dir.)

You'd be correct if you perceive the purpose of this new Rise Against video to be more about drawing attention to the mass amounts of world conflict, than about selling records. "I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore" has the band teaming again with documentary filmmaker Nico Sabenorio — who also directed their "Hollis Brown" video — to show violence at home, abroad and on varying levels of destructive impact.

Pharrell Williams f/ Miley Cyrus "Come Get It Bae" (Luis Cerveró, dir.)

It's likely impossible for Pharrell Williams and Miley Cyrus to make a video that's not sexy on some level — we're talking about the people responsible for "Blurred Lines" and "We Can't Stop," respectively — but "Come Get It Bae" is more like a high-energy version of John Legend's "You And I" video, celebrating all the many "flavors" of women with a perfect edit and a even a little handheld Bolex
