NEWS: iTunes Music Store Debuts Video Downloads

Apple's iTunes Music Store is now offering additional music video content for purchase. Numerous albums now include a bonus video track that is downloaded to your computer when you purchase the full album. There are also video singles on sale for $1.98. These come with the audio version of the single and the video. These videos are viewable in iTunes and can be watched in three different ways: The first is in the "Now Playing" or "Song Selection" window that you can display at the the bottom of the Source panel (this window displays album artwork when available). Clicking that window while the Shinspinkitunesvideo is playing will launch the content in a separate window. Finally, you can also click a button to watch the video in full screen mode. (Truth is: It's easier to just try it than follow my inelegant explanation. So if you're really curious, shell out a couple bucks on iTunes)

The videos are encoded in the Mp4 file format, compatible with QuickTime. Reports indicate that they have no DRM copy protection limitations. Video capabilities are only available on the new 4.8 version of iTunes.

Available in the Video single format on iTunes are:
The Shins "Pink Bullets"
Thievery Corporation "Warning Shots"

Albums available with bonus video include:
Dave Matthews Band "Stand Up"
Morcheeba "The Antidote"
The Go-Betweens "Oceans Apart"
