Woody Harrelson in U2 "Song For Someone" (Vincent Haycock, dir.)

Wise men enter prison with a brave face, but they also leave with fear as they step out into the unknowns of freedom. That's the crux of this short story of a music video Woody Harrelson as a long incarcerated man reconnecting with his daughter — played by real-life daughter, Zoe Harrelson — and the rest of his life.

"Song For Someone" serves as a thematic tie-in with Sundance series RECTIFY, about a perhaps innocent man who gets freed after 19 yers on Death Row.

Florence + The Machine "What Kind Of Man" (Vince Haycock, dir.) [NSFW]

I don't want to spoil this one for you. And I don't say that as way to get around having to explain this complex exploration of love, distrust, tragedy and rebirth.

Let's just say Florence Welch and director Vince Haycock know that in order to shock, you have to be honest and fearless. And this video is both of those, and a whole lot more.

Ludovico Einaudi "LIFE" (Ben and Joe Dempsey, dir.)

Ben and Joe Dempsey's stunning promo for Ludovico Einaudi's Life from the album In a Time Lapse premiered this week on nowness.com.

The film shot by Steve Annis and written by Robin Warman and Harry Orton is an emotive ode to childhood and all its wonder. The story unravels perfectly against the haunting melody of the building track from classical music's leading star Einaudi of Black Swan, This is England, and Untouchable soundtrack fame.

Jon Hopkins "Collider" (Tom Haines, dir.)

It's a tale of two journeys, both of which are hopefully imaginary, in this jarring and compelling video for EDM artist Jon Hopkins.

Tom Haines, director:  “Jon’s music has a transportive quality, which can be blissful and expansive, but can also be internal, and more aggressive, and Collider is at this end of the spectrum. We wanted to create an internal journey, which was unflinching, singular and claustrophobic and at the same time liberating. The video is like a voodoo ceremony, where the lead character dances herself into frenzy, and through the dance gains access to a parallel dimension; it’s her unfurling thoughts, her dislocated mind, and hints at something more apocalyptic - an end game for her and us."

Dizzee Rascal feat Robbie Williams "Goin' Crazy" (Andreas Nilsson, dir.)

Dizzee Rascal - Goin' Crazy ft. Robbie Williams

If you're at all familiar with their respective videographies*, then you know that director Andreas Nilsson working with Robbie Williams and Dizzee Rascal is a dream combination. "Goin' Crazy" doesn't disappoint, updating the Quaprohenia Mods vs. Rockers into a gloriously absurd one-take parade of madness.
