WATCH IT: Florence + The Machine "No Light, No Light" (Arni & Kinski, dir.)

Florence Welch is trapped in a battle between the pagan and the sacred, her soul precariously balanced on the precipice. Of course she falls — prodded on by the pinpricks of a Voodoo Man — but she tumbles into the outstretched arms of some choirboys. Unfortunately, this is also the sort of subject matter that's very easy to fall into trouble with, as proven by the many YouTube comments that take issue with the video's Eurocentric depiction of race and religion. The visuals are mostly of the thrilling and beautiful variety — especially FloWe's epic fall from and intro grace — and controversy/commentary is way better than disinterest. Just ask Madonna.  --> watch "No Light, No Light"
